BRAND CULTURE CREATIVE: Suzanne M. Tulien, Principal

Suzanne Tulien, Co-founder and Principal of The Brand Ascension Group® is committed to organizations who want to achieve transformational and sustainable brand success through strategic, internal branding practices. As co-pioneer of The Brand DNA System(SM), she helps small to medium sized clients define their internal brand core. Then, guides them to integrate it within their leadership, culture, and processes to produce experiences that inspire, motivate and engage employees to deliver memorable customer experiences consistently.

For 23 years, Suzanne has been passionately serving clients by creating corporate identity design solutions packaged with powerful strategic branding consulting and training. Working with a dynamic marketing and training firm, she helped design and facilitate marketing training workshops across the U.S. Then, as creative project manager for the global consulting firm, Navigant Consulting, Inc., she helped manage the internal and external brand acquisitioning of 13 different firms and the acculturation processes to be merged under one corporate entity.

The turning point in Suzanne's career in the creative communications/advertising and marketing arena came when she launched her own design firm in 2000, I.D. By Design. After 3 years of designing powerful corporate identity systems, it became more and more apparent that her clients weren't just looking for a new logo to represent their brand - they were silently screaming for a way to establish and sustain their competitive brand advantage in every aspect of their organization, from the inside out.

She is author of The 6 Myths of Small Business Branding e-book, and co-author of BRAND DNA; Uncover Your Organization's Genetic Code for Competitive Advantage, as well as a plethora of brand articles published on BrandChannel.com, eHotelier, Go-To-Market Strategies, and others. Suzanne is passionate about paving the evolutionary highway for small businesses to grow from the inside out by conscious, strategic design, not by default!

Favorite drink & eat: Movie Popcorn. Fine cheeses, foccacia breads and excellent wine. Fondue, grilled ribeye, grilled asparagus, garlic mashers, & more excellent wine.

Carol Chapman, Co-founder and Principal of The Brand Ascension Group® is committed to organizations who want to achieve transformational and sustainable brand success through strategic, internal branding practices. As co-developer of The Brand DNA SystemSM, she has helped numerous clients create consistent, relevant and distinctive experiences that inspire, motivate and engage employees to deliver memorable customer experiences.

For 30 years, Carol has cultivated extensive global experience and proven success in leading businesses through significant challenges. Her experience spans a variety of industries including hospitality/hotels, retail, high technology, professional services, financial services—banking and insurance, and healthcare; cable, media, government contractors, government-local, state and municipal. Specific accomplishments include guiding businesses through rapid change, brand positioning and integration, brand development/alignment and revitalization, branded service training, organization development, performance capability, employee brand engagement and service enhancement, talent acquisition, leadership assessment and development, and brand mergers and acquisitions.

She has helped organizations develop brand scorecards for managing business metrics and performance and reward/incentive programs to create a clear line-of-sight for employees. This has resulted in laser-focus at the individual level that drive team, unit and brand performance aligned with business strategy and brand goals.

Carol has held several executive management and strategic roles, including Vice President of Human Resources-Asia Pacific for the largest hotel company in the world-InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) – formerly Six Continents Hotels and Bass Hotels & Resorts. In that position, she played a key role in the acquisition and integration of the InterContinental global brand. She led the integration of a regional chain of multiple branded hotels to capitalize on desired synergies and integrate these into the branded service philosophies of the existing portfolio of brands upon conversion.

As an international speaker, she has presented at major conferences in London, Singapore, Bali and the U.S. She regularly presents webinars on the topic of brand definition, brand strategy and management and has presented for InterCall, Microsoft Live, ReadyTalk, Smallbiz America, Small Business Television (SBTV.com), Better Management (SAS, Inc.). She is author of numerous articles and published in Brand Channel, ehotelier, and Sales and Service Excellence.
